There are a few methods to insert an ad code into your website.

Single web page integration

This method is easy and requires basic HTML knowledge, but it works with the ad codes. For website verification, please proceed to Theme editor. Additionally, you will need to apply this method to every page where you want ads to fire.

1. Go to the page editor, then click on ‘+’ to add a new element on the page.

2. Here, you will need a ‘formatting’ set of elements.

3. Then, choose ‘Custom HTML’.

4. Use the Custom HTML input to insert the ad script received at Publisher’s Dashboard.

5. Save the page changes to the page, and you’re ready to go. Remember, you will need to repeat this process for each page individually.

Theme editor

To use a theme editor, you will need ‘write’ permissions. Read the WordPress guide on how to do so.

1. Select the ‘Appearance’ tab to manage your website themes.

2. Select ‘Theme Editor’ from the drop-down menu to access your theme’s source code.

3. In the theme files, choose ‘header.php’ as the most relevant among all these pages.

4. Paste your meta verification tag or ad code between the <head> and </head> tag.

5. Click on ‘Update file’ to save the changes.

6. You’re all set. To complete the verification process, simply return to the Publisher’s Dashboard and click on 'Prove Ownership'.

Furthermore, you can access detailed instructions provided by WordPress.

Troubleshooting

If something is not working, make sure to check that the code or meta tag hasn't been altered in any manner, such as parts being placed in different locations or extra symbols being added.
